Middle Bass Island - State Park Marina Construction Pictures, May 26, 2008

Marina drainage is scheduled to start in the next week or two, and marina completion is still scheduled for the fall. The state is planning to build 250 docks, and the Middle Bass Island Yacht Club will be responsible for building its own 75 docks.

These encourage the snakes to crawl under them. These are not the snake traps, which are located elsewhere.

Snake Fences

The black fences seen in several pictures are to keep the captured snakes from getting back into the marina. They extend a couple of feet underground.

The Old Entrance to the Marina

The old entrance is sealed, and the new entrance will be further north.

Marina Panorama

The current marina is shaped like the letter "U", as shown in this image, and the entire central portion of the "U" will be removed as the main piece of the expansion. That's the area that this picture was taken from.
