First 4 Pictures: At the new playground before the Halloween celebration. A celebration of the new playground was held on Saturday October 31st, 2009 prior to the children's Halloween party at J.F. Walleye's. Town Hall Board Members LoriAnn Suglia, Karen Held, Marika Gross, and Laura Schanz welcomed all island children and their parents to the celebration. There were donuts, cookies, apple cider, and coffee enjoyed inside, while the parents helped the children write a note on balloons that were filled with helium, and then released. As a special treat for the children, a moon walk was set up for the festivities, and was donated for the day from "Parties To Go" from Lorain, Ohio.
Next 4 Pictures: Kids' Halloween Party. For the third consecutive year, J.F. Walleye's was proud to host a fun afternoon for the children of the island, and of course their friends. Katie Schneider and LoriAnn Suglia planned all of the events and games for the children. There were the standard games, such as musical chairs, and pass the pumpkin, and some new craft events. Children decorated cupcakes, colored picture frames, and so on. This year's event was attended by more than 25 children!
Remaining Pictures: Adults' Hallowen Party. Some great costumes were once again unveiled at the annual J.F. Walleye's Adult Halloween Party. Over 120 people enjoyed the night with plenty of food, and of course libations. This is the third year of what we hope is a long time tradition! Carrie Schneider was the lucky person selected to play Walleye's version of "Deal or No Deal" with a chance to win $500. Tension was high for awhile as the $500 case stayed in play for along time. Offers reached over $150, but Carrie was determined to hit it big, so....NO DEAL! Carrie played like a trooper, took it all the way to the end, and held on to her original case selection, which yielded her $5. (as always, Walleye's was quick to sweeten the final prize by awarding her a trip!)
