Email from Rusty Walter on July 13: My sister Kimberly (Walter) Glandon was in a serious swimming accident near her hometown of Plain City, Ohio Saturday Night 7/12/09. She is currently at OSU Medical in Columbus, Ohio. She has suffered a broken neck and serious damage to her vertebrae. Currently she is stable, and able to move her legs and arms. Kim will be undergoing 8 hrs of surgery on Tuesday 7/14/2009 to start the repair of the damage. Kim (33) is a life long summer resident of Middle Bass, the Daughter of Jim and Diane Walter of Plain City, and she has a daughter Halie (4). She has lots of friends on the Island and I just want to somehow get the word out to them about what has happened so we can gather all of yours and their prayers for Kim to get through this devastating accident. The information that I have today, is that she will be undergoing surgery Tuesday morning at OSU Medical Center in Columbus. I currently don't have any more details about the surgery, I will pass on the details and status as we get them.
