Island Airlines Ford Tri-Motor N7584, early February or March, 1976 Could not land on the south Middle Bass Island airstrip because of snow drifts. - Landed by the ice fishing shacks about 150 ft offshore. The land off the left wingtip is the western edge of the Lonz runway, near today's state park campground. - Contributed by the pilot, Terry Shields click on an image to enlarge it, then click the result again to enlarge it more. The picture below is a 1977 photo of the N7584's cockpit with David Martin, Island Airlines' chief pilot, at the controls.
